I think this is a little bland but I was impressed with the ease of creating the wood affect. Ross oils on 16x20 canvas.

This painting never excited me so I decided to just get crazy and add the clouds!

Painted it last night... woke up this morning and realized I forgot to add the water lines and the clouds. I got out a little liquid white and added the water lines but didn't add the clouds ... Oh well, maybe the next time.
Not too late. I actually added them after the painting was dry. I was afraid the white might stir up some brown in the clouds which I didn’t want.
Looking at it, if I add clouds now it will be out of balance. Leaving the bottom with just the wood look. Look at mine and tell me if you agree.
Okay you talked me into it... I put one small one to the right and just a tad down. It looked so good I decided to do one on the painting i just finished for a friend... I did two on hers, it looks really good so of course I went and added the second on my original... BIG mistake! I fumbled the brush and it became a big cloud 😔
...i know, No mistakes just happy accidents
