Mountain Retreat

rock_lobsterrr85 27 Jul 2021

I had a lot of fun experimenting with this one. Unlike some of my usual paintings following along with Bob, for this one I just held on to the basic components (blue/red/yellow sky, brown mountain, waterfall, cabin, etc) and ran with it. I’m really happy with how the waterfalls came out, since Bob would only really do straight unbroken waterfalls. I also tried to use the script liner a lot more and do more fine details, like the tall grass and that skinny naked tree. Oh, and I exclusively used the tiny knife on this one since I didn’t want that caked on snow look lol. Really happy with this one and I’m planning on experimenting and branching out a lot more in the future! :)

Yes I love the front set of mountains you added with the falls. Nice.

Absolutely remarkable. Well done!

It's beautiful. The waterfalls are great. Mountains are amazing. My favorite part in painting is when I start adding all the details and just relax and listen to my feeling. And I always use the small knife.

Mountain turned out to be gorgeous with its light and shadows play! Cabin is super and little details make everything work together just perfect!

Spectacular mountains!

I love what you did with the mountains and falls and the detail in the grasses is spot on.

When I attempt this I would be thrilled if it came out like your RL. I like yours better than Bob's. That's not blasphemy right?
