Original Creation

Man’s Best Friend

Ajcus 28 Oct 2020

I painted this impressionist piece using only a knife. The two figures in the distance are a man walking his dog. It was fun to do. Took me about 5 hours to compete. It is inspired by the work of Leonid Afremov.

Well done! Great texture and color. Afremov is who I am about to attempt in the near future. Do you start with a dry canvas? I couldn’t find that info from what I’ve seen in his videos.

I love this style and technique! Very well chosen subject and perfectly executed with that harmony of colours!
An A++ painting!

I don't normally take to this style of painting but this is great! And there's no need to explain what the figures are, it's very clear. Love the figures, especially the dog. Colours are great, vibrant but not in your face. A great subject and a very pleasing painting all round.

Thank you everyone. Yes, I start with a dry canvas. I don’t know if he does.

That’s wonderful painting! You are a pro with pallet knife use!

The first thing that came to mind when I saw this painting was Afremov. I think you did a fantastic job. I actually have 5 Afremov originals hanging in my house!
