Original Creation

No. 27

Alex_Ander 27 Nov 2021

Started this one on Monday and finished it today. Really enjoying splitting up my painting sessions... background one day/foreground later on.

Trimmed my fan brush and what a difference that made in my pine trees. Super happy with those.

And I'm liking doing the grass/rolling hills, too. First attempt at creating a gorge-like separation in the earth (in case you were wondering what the heck that brown line was 😁).

No Liquid White base...just linseed oil. 14x11 reclaimed canvas.

Great depth and I really like your mountain.

Wow, you really nailed that crevice/canyon thingy!

Thanks, Cronenberg89. I think I could paint a mountain every time. They're fun.

ShadowcarsDragon: My sister thought the crevice/canyon thingy was a fence 😄, so I might still have some work to do. Or it might just be a personal perspective thing.

Anyway, I'm glad you liked it. I thought it came out okay for a first try.

I immediately thought it was a land fissure, and thought you really nailed the lighting of the ground.

Thank you, ShadowcarsDragon. My wife knew what it was right away as well.

Great purple mountain and the mist!

Voy Kay Conqueror of Challenges

My word, what a great idea to paint this mountain with a purple glare!
One of the best I've seen!

Thanks, Voy Kay. It's funny, but somehow the picture of this painting is actually brighter than the real thing. Not sure how that happened, but I guess we can have happy accidents in photography, too.

Great job reflecting the colorful sky light onto the mountain range and mist. Nice color harmony and nice use of complimentary colors. Happy Painting, amysallaprima
