Original Creation

No. 45

Alex_Ander 08 Dec 2022

This was the second painting and handmade wooden stand chosen in my Advent Season giveaway with my family. I like that opening in the clouds.

12x16-inch canvas board.

The path curving around those trees is done really well. It really makes this painting feel like the viewer is traveling somewhere with the way it leads the eye off the right side of the canvas. And then the opening in the sky kind of draws you back in so that your attention isn't just being thrown off the right side of the canvas.

Agreed, the ground covering is beautiful

Thank you, Nick and Terry. I'm glad you like the painting. You probably had to put your coats on to view it, didn't you? 🙂 My neighbor said, "Looks cold," when he first saw it.

The perspective is amazing! The color palette is beautiful! And yes, it does look cold! Great job Alex!

Love the path and nice distance created! Great fluffy with snow evergreens!

Thank you, Nancy, Pietro, and Pam.

Nancy: The perspective just happened. I never really know where a painting will go. I use other paintings as a guide, but I can never follow them. One little change and the scene goes in another direction.

Pietro: I was really happy with the depth, too. I was surprised that could be done when all the colors are basically the same...just different shades.

Pam: I put too much snow on those fluffy evergreens and had to go back and add some dark again. The one on the far left was really too white. It stuck out and drew your eye right away.
