Original Creation

The First One

Alex_Ander 22 Mar 2021

This was my first attempt at painting (unless you count the mess I made with water colors as a child). When I made this a year ago, I was quite pleased with it. Now, a dozen paintings later, I can see where I've improved.

Interestingly enough, I discovered the further away I got from this scene, the better it looked. And it was awesome when I put a wall between it and me. Kidding. This painting will forever be "The First One."

Now, I was unsure if I should have checked the box on the image upload page that read, "This painting contains elements that might be offensive to some people." I ended up leaving the box blank, but if you still find this painting hard to look at, my apologies :)

Regards,

Alex

I don't imagine anyone is cringing alex, my first one is hidden behind the wardrobe and will never grace the pages of this fine website! The first painting is all about just having a try and seeing if you like it. After that the learning begins.

I think it's a great first effort. I especially like the sky and fanbrush bushes. My first painting is hidden somewhere amongst my other not-so-successful paintings. But it still has a special meaning for me, because it gave me motivation to actually continue painting.

Thank you. Your kind words echo an overarching theme on this website, namely positivity and encouragement.

Best wishes.
