Original Creation

Pacific Coastline-Nicholas Hankins

BayBoy 06 Feb 2025

I’m currently taking a class called Beyond Bob. The class is taught with grisaille method of blocking color values then over painting with color. It is not a wet on wet method. I found this method extremely difficult and frustrating. The BR painting we were copying was aired with Nicholas Hankins as the host artist. The bottom left corner was supposed to be rocks in the sand that I couldn’t quite get. I ended up scraping off the rocks multiple times until I gave up and added the water.

Super work 👍🏼🇩🇪

Nicely done, love the colors used and great rocks ✌️

I like it Don!

Are you going to continue? I have been enjoying underpainting then wet on wet.

You found a technique that works for you that’s great, very beautiful

Well done, including the water rescue!

Steve-I have 3 more classes using this method. We’ll see how it goes.

Jon- the shoreline foam and water rescue are my favorite parts.

Thanks everybody for your support
