So my husband and I were blessed to have bought our first home two years ago here in the Cariboo region of B.C.🇨🇦 It is a beautiful property teeming with life- complete with a creek running through our backyard. Naturally, this creek is filled with fish which attracts a variety of fishing birds.
I was absolutely star-struck the first time I saw this incredible raptor swoop down with such speed and agility that it seemed so easily to pluck fish out of the water!💦 What a show! I simply could not resist painting such a beautiful, underrated creature! 🎨

The osprey (Pandion haliaetus) is a diurnal, fish-eating bird of prey. This raptors diet almost exclusively consists of fish.The osprey tolerates a wide variety of habitats, nesting in any location near a body of water providing an adequate food supply. It is found on all continents except Antarctica, although in South America it occurs only as a non-breeding migrant.

At long last my masterpiece is now complete! I am REALLY happy with how this one turned out! This is the largest painting I've done thus far and it was an excellent workout for my artist muscles💪✨
