Northern Consolation

I had a bit of trouble picking up my brushes after about two weeks of no painting but this was an easy one to do and helped me ease back into the swing. I'm very happy with how the top half of the painting turned out but less pleased with the bottom half. I like to finish my paintings in one sitting but became very tired as I went on and thus became sloppy.
I titled my painting Northern Consolation because after long days battling cold weather (wether it's my truck wont start, the air hurts to breathe, or just fed up with having to dress like the michelin man every time I need to go outside) the north has a way of using natural beauty to make up for its harshness. I don't believe any northern phenomena does this better than the aurora borealis.
