Had a canvas that I messed up so I used gesso to paint it black and I had a tree texture in it so I had to cover that. Then I just started adding stuff for practice. I have had a bad painting week.

I really enjoy the contrast of your warm and bright sky and the darker land below it. By the way, you are becoming a sky master my friend! This one is absolutely gorgeous!! Love the tree bark as well!! Super job on recycling an old canvas to make a new composition. Quick tip, if you want to get rid of the texture of the previous painting that was on a canvas, sand paper it first until you get a smooth surface. Then apply your gesso. You get a flawless new canvas to work with. 😀
That's how we learn Cold! I have my share of struggles too. But they hold a secret little gem each and every one of them... it makes you a better artist and sharpens your skills. Learn from them, understand why they happened. You'll learn faster than if all way easy breezy every time.

It's great that you were able to use something you didn't like to keep learning. I feel your struggles too. Those are great tree trunks. Lots of texture.
