Forest Hollow- Bill Alexander

Cronenberg89 04 Sep 2023

My attempt at Bill’s Forest Hollow. Fun to do but mine came out too light again. I may never get the JOP entire series painted because I keep seeing other stuff that I would rather try to paint. (I still have 56 Bob paintings to do to complete the entire series).

Nice. I haven't tried any of Bill's paintings yet. I'm too focused on doing the entire JoP series in order. I paint one a week and I'm only in season four!

56 isn't a lot for you Brian! Great job here. Mastering Bill's darks is tough.

Thanks X! I know that you are tackling this in order and have watched your great progress. I jumped around painting what appealed to me and now have only the ones that are least appealing to me left. Pfft

Thank you Tomi! And you are correct about Bill’s darks. Next time I am going with pthalo green and alizarin crimson for dark!

The sunlight and shadows are excellent!

Thank you Laura!

Well done Brian, try whatever you want and not for any numbers, There are enough numerous goals in work life... :)
If you like Bill stick with him or try other stuff too. I personally love Bill and his way to paint. I feel the loose style fits you perfectly. So I wouldn't worry about the JoP series.
If you want to get something more dark, I would advise you to mix in some prussian blue with alizarin crimson. This makes a really dark color.

Hey Brian , Good job, you will become a bill Alexander expert 👍🏼🇩🇪🇺🇸

Thank you so much Tom! It’s funny, I don’t think that I’ve ever tried Prussian blue and alizarin crimson before.

Thanks Dirk! I will strive to get better at Bill’s paintings as I really like his style and even just watching him is very entertaining and enjoyable! 👍🇺🇸🇩🇪

Nice job as always bud.

Thanks Tony!
