Oil on 18x24 canvas. My trifecta of Barns. Had a bravery test after I thought I was finished. Added the tree on the right thinking I would push things back. I ended up covering the red trees I had behind the cabin. As usual, I didn’t realize I had done that until after I finished. Anyway, interested in your feedback. So much to learn but feels good to take the risk and do some original paintings. Thanks for taking a look.
This is very nice work! I love the idea of doing a series like this, since we can see improvements and growth in each one more easily. Your depth is clearly indicated, barns retain their charm and have improved perspective, and I love the road and fence. The large tree in front does help depth, though changing composition on the fly can cause a ripple in the flow. In this case, all worked out well!
Thanks Larry. I really like what you said about the ripple in”ripple in the flow”. There always seems to be a lot of “why did I do that?” moments after I finish a painting. Guess I’m my own worst critic but I do have a lot to learn. I really like the feedback from others on what they see as well as tips on how to improve. Thanks again your feedback means a lot.
