Happy Tuesday my friend!!! Great job for a 1st seascape!!! πŸŽ‰. I love the colors you used. Specially that tiny bit of pink in your light areas in your sky & wave. I also like the dark composition! Well done!! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

Thanks Nancy , I used the colours like in the Video . The wave caused me a headache 😎

I though you used whatever Buck had you used but you’re the one that mixed the colors to get to that light pinkish color. πŸ˜‰
Waves can be tricky, but like anything else, the more you do them, the better you get at it and the easier it gets! I would be very happy with this piece!

Superb Dirk. Never tried anything from Buck. Need to check him.

Thank you my Friend, that builds me up.

Hey Tom, the wave is kept completely abstract in the video and was totally difficult for me to implement / recognize. No experience with it. I tried as best I could. Thank you

Really pretty and a terrific first seascape!

That's totally nice Sandy, thank you very much

Very nice Dirk, I wondered why he is putting in liquid black on an already black canvas, would just liquid clear not be enough, because there is also an underground of pt.blue/green?

Hallo Jos , erstmal vielen Dank 😎I asked myself the same question. I have no idea. The only thing I can imagine is that you immediately mix in grayscale and the color is muffled. In any case, my impression when painting was like that. Liquid clear makes the shade pop up more intensely

Ok thanks Dirk, going to try this tomorrow!

Anytime you are welcome ,Jos, I'm excitedπŸ‘ŠπŸΌ

I think I will have a go on this too. But maybe Buck did mean he painted the canvas black with the black medium aka magic black aka liquid black. In my opinion this is sufficient for the scene. I did several paintings using liquid black alone.
Anyway thanks Dirk for bringing up this episode!

Tom, he says he puts the black medium over the canvas that was already covered with a black acrylic primer, i t seems double to me too, but maybe there is a reason for it.

Hi Tom, in the course of the video he mentions it again ,Black Acrylic on the Canvas with Black Medium on top I had carton with gesso black primed ,anyway so it doesn't matter for me. Mix on it ,ready. Very likely it works the same way with pure liquid black on the canvas 😎

Yeah it might be that he did that. But if I do it I might use only the liquid black πŸ˜‰

This is very beautiful! I agree with Nancy about the pink. I think your version is definitely showing more light than Buck Paulson's but I like it!

Good evening from Germany, Pam. Nice that you like it, I'm very happy. That was a new experience. with black gesso and black medium then layer by layer on top . 😎

Looks great

Thank you so much Coldethel, greetings from Germany . Glad you like it πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘ŠπŸΌ
