Yowza........surely not the Bluebird of HAPPINESS.......working on this small canvas (5"x7") and small thin brushes requiring more "exactness" and a steadier hand is much more difficult for me than the larger canvases. Also "blending" the edges and hues takes a little more finesse than I have. I will try to post the picture I used to compare.....clearly a big difference but it was fun using up the left over paint from my previous painting so it didn't go to waste.
I think it is beautiful! I agree, the small canvases make it hard to do fine smaller details. I also find acrylics easier for things like feathers because they dry so much faster. I was a huge birder a few years ago, so I love to paint them. You did a great job!
Nice work, doc. The small format makes it more difficult👍🏼🇩🇪
Small canvases drive me up the wall, you did well. Your little bird looks really cute.
This is nice. The colors are good. I would suggest larger brushes... not the 2", but not tiny. The tiny brushes work for some people. But it kills any hope of painterly loose style, and i think that style works for you. You have a good eye for color and form. Have fun and try to be looser.... not unhappy
