One more previously-posted-elsewhere-online painting from my college days. I did this 16x20 acrylics sketch of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse In NC but didn't feel like doing the fence around it - I tried several times to make a fence that looked right and ended up omitting it because the painting looked less messy without it. The clouds I made with my bare fingers, not a paintbrush - with acrylics, I've found that works really well for overcast skies. I've not tried that method with Oils yet, though. The (inevitable) birds are white Ibises, in this case, plus one generic seagull.
Fantastic job!!!
What an excellent lighthouse! Being a NC resident, I thought it looked familiar ;-) And your ibises are so cool!
Beautiful lighthouse!
