This was an experiment on a slice of cedar using some leftover acrylic from a previous painting. Compared to using oils on wood, the acrylic seemed easier to get coverage, and I didn’t bother with a coating of gesso beforehand.

If you give it a try use old or cheap brushes as the mildly rough surface wears them out quickly.
