I decided to use a black canvas to make the snow stand out and it worked well. It was good practice and now I need to decorate a real tree!

Haahah, yes, X-mas comes very fast in these darkened days.
Best of all in this time of year, I like the tsunami of X-mas movies. I am a real sucker for movies with a happy end!!

Exceptional starry night with powerful clouds and with yes, .... those mystery foot steps!

Oh thank you. I think someone is headed to Grandma’s house for some holiday cheer and good food. Those were the days....

Love the sky! Little footprints look great. The decorated trees are nice addition.

Fantastic work. I love the tunnel effect created by the trees and clouds.

Thank you doggymommee! I like the Prussian Blue with white for night skies.

Thanks Colin. I was aiming for that effect by adding stars fairly low.

It does create quite a nice effect!

I've three questions you could help me with because I struggle (to say the least) with stars. How big is your canvas? What kind of brush did you use for the stars? And what brand of paint (and was it thinned or mixed with anything)? I can barely get the paint to stick to the brush and then it won't come off and stick to the canvas! Yours look great though - and I love how they're peeking through the clouds.

Thank you Ironchef8000. This is one of the smaller paintings I’ve done at just 8x10. I painted a larger one 12x16 that turned out the same.
For the stars I use a Princeton Select Angle Spot Detailer 10/0, and straight Bob Ross liquid white. A tiny amount of liquid white makes a lot of stars, some large and some small with very gentle touches of the brush tip. I hope this helps.

Absolutely love the footprints in the snow!

Hi - did you read my request to allow the Hospices to use your work all year round rather than just for Christmas cards as, due to the Covid-19 epidemic, they were unable to create the website in time? Can you let me know if you agree to the changes or I cannot use your work without your permission.

Many thanks - Colin

Colin, I did not receive your prior request. How was it sent? I’ll be happy to work with you on it.
