I saw a similar painting in passing recently and liked the pastel colors so much I had to give it a try. I used Gamblin Red Oxide on the sand, golden ochre and aquamarine blue with hints of oxide for the sky. Iā€™m pleased with it. 16x20

So beautiful! I usually love vivid colors but the pastels are really lovely. The grass looks very realistic!

Lilikins, thank you. Iā€™m with you on the vivid colors generally. I used liquid white and the absolute smallest amount of paint except for the grass and sand.
