This has black gesso underpainting on the lower half including distant trees. A variant of the Nick Hankins tutorial. It’s one of my favorites to date and earned a place on the wall.

Very nice! This is one I saw and had to look deeper at. The rocks jump out at me, even the right side rocks jutting from the dirt.
