So I was planning on putting a larger painting on my living room wall for quite some time now. After overcoming quite a bit of anxiety about what to paint and it having(!) to be good I settled for one of my trusty deep forest scenes. And boy I feel it was a great decision! The Waterfall is probably my best yet and I had so much fun for the whole 4 hours of painting. I played more with rocks and cliffs in this painting than in any other before and I feel they help settle in the water in such a nice way.
I used a 90x50cm canvas I stretched and primed myself. Dabbed the forms of the trees, waterfall and background in with black on paper towel and startet with a foundation of liquid green for the trees and a liquid mix of burnt umber and burnt sienna for the far background.
