Faraway Forest Fall

Hammipaints 08 May 2023

This one's a biggie on 80x60cm stretched canvas! Was quite intimidating even though I have painted on a similar size before. But all worked so wonderfully! I wanted to try a distant waterfall in a deep woods painting for quite some time now and I think I did not fail! Definitely will do that again.
Now I only have to find a place in my apartment for this one!

came out really nice, big canvases let you spread out some.

Thanks Rucifi! They definitely do. Also more forgiving with mistakes

Just beautiful and the distant waterfall is awesome! Love your details, well done!

Beautiful fairy tale forest!

What a beautiful painting! I always have problems with this type. Great job!

Thanks a lot you three!
@Tomi I know that feeling! There are some compositions I kind of avoid now.

Wow really beautiful Marc!

Nice

Nicely done overall.

Gorgeous Marc!!! So much depth with your layering. Your details are once again incredible. Love the diff shades of green. I have done 6 painting with that canvas size. I too was very intimidated at first. But it's actually easier I believe. Well done my friend!

Another outstanding painting Marc.

Thanks so much to the bunch of you!

@Nancy: I had some trouble with a vertical painting I did in that format, because I messed up the spacing (at least that's how I felt) of my dark areas in the foliage out of pure habit since I was used to smaller canvases. But I absolutely agree in general! The bigger canvases are more forgiving. Also this one made me appreciate the 2 Inch brush which I rarely get to use! I painted almost everything using a single 2 Inch brush, swapping only to a second one because the first one got too soggy over time.
