Original Creation

Lake at Mountain's edge

Hammipaints 03 Oct 2022

Finally I get to paint again! After a longer hiatus due to work and personal stuff it's so refreshing to finally get to put old brush to the canvas again. I used that occasion to fill a 30x60cm canvas I prepared some time ago but did not have any Idea what to paint on it until now. Inspired by Bob's "Mountain Ridge Lake" I went for a similar scene, but stretched the ridge out over the length of the canvas. I am really satisfied in the end result, especially the distant mountains of which I feel I am getting the hang of! It's such a great feeling the put together a painting I like after an hiatus which left me unsure if I've still got it.

Anyway, what do you guys think?

Very nice painthing, great job keep going!!

Love how clean and crisp this is, beautiful!

Great painting. Love how you blended more distinct trees with more obscure trees in the background. Mountains are great, too.

I just realized this was done with acrylics, now I'm even more impressed. The sky, water and mountains had me thinking oils. Again, I really enjoy this one.

Acrylics? Wow. I didn't realize that until Jeffth just posted. I can usually pick out an acrylic painting. This one fooled me. It sure looks like an oil painting. Great job.

Thanks to all 3 of you!! Especially about my painting being clean and crisp, that's something I felt I continue to struggle with!
Glad I could fool you too! I have to admit I take some pride in achieving this look with acrylics and that pushes my confidence! 😁

Its amazing hammi, very very nice painting! Everything is so good and great colors!
