Wasn’t sure what to paint but that adjusted as I went. Enjoyed this one. 18 by 24. I did do some background gesso of evergreens just wasn’t sure on season and layout but like how things went.

Can you run through how you did the water? Is this on a black canvas or was the bottom half black? I really like the dark quality of the winter water with the nice reflections of the snowy banks.
Thank you lightsnow :). Yes I did the bottom part of the canvas in black acrylic and let it dry. Also did some of the distant “shadow” type evergreens in black acrylic. Then used liquid clear medium over the whole canvas. For the bottom I used I think Prussian blue and maybe a little crimson. If I can recall. Something close to that.
