This seemed to be more challenging for me. Troubles with the uncertainty of my angles and using the liner brush for tree limbs. I definitely need to practice more. Any advice would be helpful :)
Yes what Pietro said, paint thin as water and twist your brush while loading it brings it to a sharp point. I find if you start your limb at the tree trunk and work outward, continually reducing pressure before lifting the brush off the canvas you get slender branches. Do it slowly to start with until you like the way they look, then you can build up speed. Great colours.
Hi Heidi, one area that caught my eye was the highlighting on/down your dark woodland path. If you paint them horizontally instead of mostly diagonally or vertically, that should help quite a bit with angles and perspective. This is a very fun painting and with practice, I know you'll get it just right! I think your background sky came out beautifully :-)
Thank you all for the great advice!! I will implement your advice when I practice :)
Liner brush is a challenge! Practice will definitely give results! I personally love the light shinning in this one!
Thank you, Txing!
