This was inspired by a photo taken by a friend back home during a recent visit to Michigan's Upper Peninsula (The UP!). I like this one, but I wish my snow would stand out more-it looks a little flat. Any tips would be appreciated!

Advice on the snow would be to check the original photo in black and white mode and if it is not overexposed you will be able to add shadows and highlights to the snow in your painting. Check your painting in white and black mode as well. With such sky your shadows will be purplish and bluish. But in case photo is taken in the cloudy weather shadows will be very soft and difficult to implement. Anyway give it a try.
