My first attempt at a black canvas, I think I covered too much of the dark, still feel it came out ok?

Yes, next time try to leave more of the black showing and it will add a lot of depth and contrast without a lot of effort. The black canvases are a lot different! Overall this is a really nice composition. I especially like the tall trees and the low angle view.
