Really nice impressionism here. Love the complexity of colors in the mountains and sky. only question about dark spot in the middle. It is probably way to dark for a lake. What is it? What is that orange you used? In mixes with white it gives nice yellowish rather than peach color. What is the pigment there? oh Gosh mountain in the distance is mesmerizing by the pinks, yellow, blues and greens against that slightly purplish tone in the sky. Love how one color jumps from inside out. I think this is a very successful pallet to explore further.

Thank you sunnylady. The dark spot is supposed to be water. Lost it to mud mixing. Just went dark to salvage it. The orange is cad yellow and cad red mix. I got a little loose with that mix, trying to keep it orange. I picked up some old Walter foster books, and so far the 2 by Merlin enabnit are blowing my mind. So fun.

Thanks for letting know the color mix! Very interesting color! I have cad orange out of the tube, it is a cold orange. That mix you describe is super nice!

Can you Tell something from that book? Something that blown your mind?

I would say his use of color. He writes about color surprise. Take a squeeze of color, split it in half, add black to one and white to the other. That is light and shadow of a color. Going a step further you can move up the color wheel representing light. For example green and black for dark, green and white for light, then add some yellow green as an accent in the light, or same with going down the color wheel for darks. You could throw in some blue-green going on the darks. I may actually write an article about what I am learning.

Wow, this is great and I like that gives some sort of instruction with actual use of color wheel. All the videos only talk about theory and not how to make variation inside one shape.

I learnt that shadows need to have more than one color meaning variety and artistic approach - but not in terms of following color scheme. That will be awesome off you could share the book name and couple of interesting things in that article to create interest to read the book.

I will remember what you shared about shadow and highlights with color wheel.
