More drippy tree portraits

KASPaint 08 Feb 2023

It was calling to me! I had to try these again. Added some iridescence bubbles to all of them with the golden interference colors. If you haven't tried adding some fun shine to your paintings yet, i highly suggest it. They are so fun!

Extremely cool!

I love these, and I hope this is just the beginning for this series! If I may share the passing thoughts I had while excitedly viewing your tree portraits: the subject in the center here is the most captivating for me, I think because of how gnarly and unique it looks. The trees on either side of it are still super cool, but I think when doing a single subject like this: the weirder the better! This is just my opinion, I just find this so inspiring. It's such a cool idea! Each tree has it's own story to tell :)
p.s. - what are iridescence bubbles?

@jeffth Thank you! Yes, the ones on the side are much more plain but worth practicing for my general improvement. The middle one is definitely the best and my favorite!
The bubbles are just something i like to add to my tree portraits. Golden paints has a whole series of "interference" colors which shine when the light hits the painting. Under low light they seriously make the areas pop that they are applied too. I discovered they added a whole other layer of enjoyment to my paintings, even the bob ross ones. I little added to the water, on the top of a mountain or as a small highlight to a tree.
In this series I just made circles with it. I'd call it a "firefly" but some of them got so big and i just loved how it looked!. You can see some of them on the white canvas. The left tree is interference blue, middle is gold and right one is blue. This paint really adds a lot to a black canvas painting especially a northern light one.

Just in love with that concept! So different and beautiful!!!

I haven't delved into acrylics yet, but I'll have to check out those interference colors when I do! Thanks for the info :)

@jeffth Williamsburg Oil Color, Interference Red, 37ml Tube. They also make it in oil! Golden does the williamsburg line of oil paints. A small tube will last you many paintings, but you will get sucked into getting all of them eventually lol. They are just too much fun
