Original Creation

A Cold Christmas Morning

KJ 28 Dec 2020

This is an acrylic attempt. This gave me a bit of difficulty. Painting the church was much harder than I had anticipated. I've also not quite got my acrylic planning under contol. My background mountain was too dark and my trees didn't show up very well. Still enjoyed the painting! This is a 16 X 20 canvas and Liquitex acrylics.

The difficulty paid off. I love the church with glowing windows and ice cicles, and the decorated tree all set in a frosty scene!

The church is very quaint, and has lots of character, I struggle with perspective and buildings too in any medium, but I think you did a really good job here, don’t be too hard on yourself!
Mountains can be tricky, but you have some really lovely effects happening in here, the grass peaking through the snow, the brush alongside the church, vibrant sky, and the wonderful icy pathway

Thank you ForestVue and Mrs C! Your comments are so kind! And you're correct, sometimes we are our own worst critics! Each painting teaches me something!

Voy Kay Conqueror of Challenges

I like this one KJ, specially that church grabs my attention. However difficult it was, you made a very nice creation of it!
Looking forward to your next endeavours!
