I am so pleased with this big golden sky turnout! On a hike earlier that day I was blown away by the magpies out and felt it necessary to add a pair in at the end. I worked on the clouds with Diane Andre and finished the front section mostly on my own! I have just finished a huge version of this on a 32x32” canvas and I am anxious for it to finish its drying stages to get some non glared photos!
Have seen the video of Diana and I did a try but was not so satisfied. You did the colours in the sky not beside but under each other and the contrast with your mountain, at the bottom of the painting is great just because the sharp white and dark against the colorful soft sky. Great work. Maybe I give it another try later with your inspiration. The birds are a very nice detail.

Thank you everyone so SO much! This is so much still my favorite I think I have done. So much was on accident like the bright separation from the mountains to the foreground, accidents covered by accidents for sure but I just love it more every day!
