Cardinal Cove 2

Hello Friends, this is my second painting (12x16 on canvas) in a series I've been doing by combining different elements from several of Bob's works into a hybrid painting. The challenge was creating values in a minimal palette, while adding a bold pop of "cardinal red" :)
Another challenge was scaling down the cardinal for a 12x16 canvas, as I usually like to paint on a 16x20. Making it smaller would lose some detail, while any larger would look wrong. I tried my best!
My husband's home health aide enjoys this type of painting, so she commissioned me to create a few for her. Hopefully this one checks the box for her of a winter scene with a cardinal. Thanks for taking a peek!
