“Timothy Bay"-Oil on canvas, 16x20. This painting was started as my brother Tim entered hospice care in March. I had to step away from it for a bit until after he passed— But this week, I returned to it to finish it as a tribute.
I’ve named it Timothy Bay—because Tim was a sailor. A Navy veteran. A man of strength, grit, and pride. But also someone with a deeply soft heart, especially for his family. This bay, with its calm waters and heavenly sky, is where I imagine him now.....for the sailor whose voyage is now at peace.
Painting this has helped me remember that grief and beauty can coexist. That love remains. And that Tim’s journey did not end here—it simply sailed on.
For my big brother, always.
