Made a painting of my friends cats for his birthday tomorrow. In all honesty, it’s not my best work but this was the first time I didn’t have a good reference photo to work from. It’s a surprise present so the only photos I had were quick snaps taken in secret. Attached are the cute little models and my terrible photos of them.

It’s a shame about your sons allergies tom. They really are wonderfully loving and mischievous animals. Yes the fur does require a lot of patience and I spend way more time on it than necessary but I enjoy detail work like that. I just listen to an audiobook and happily paint away for hours. I’m glad the eyes don’t look creepy to anyone else. The white cats eyes seem like they are looking into my soul lol. Also I’m so glad they came out looking like blankets! My husband thought they were in a forest being surrounded by a vine monster 😂
Really good, just wish i had the patience to do this kind of detailed work
