As promised a painting of your favorite flower - cauliflower! My husband was very confused as to why I was painting a cauliflower but I thought it was great fun.
Thanks sunnylady! I tried out a wood pattern scraper and I’m not exactly impressed with the results - could just be lack of practice but I think I just like hand painted wood grain better. The cauliflower looks a bit more like popcorn but I’m really happy with how the leaves turned out. I did glazing again with yellow, green, white highlights and another yellow glaze.
The leaves are super real indeed! I want to peel them off and start cooking something of this cauliflower.
I never heard of wood pattern scraper but I thought that wood looks very real. Like distressed wood.
My husband found jr at the hardware store so I thought I would give it a try. I painted a base layer in a lighter color and let that dry and then I used 2 darker colors on top and scraped the pattern in using the scraper. I covered up the big problem area with the cauliflower. Maybe I just need to practice with it more.
