Original Creation

Tea Time

Lilikins 18 Nov 2022

This is a companion piece to the coffee painting I made for my coffee/tea bar. I was going to add steam to this as well but I’m not sure now. This is the first painting where I continued along the side since it’s going to be displayed in a location where you will see the edges. It was a bit awkward painting the edges but overall not as difficult to do as I thought it would be and I like the overall effect. Attached is a photo of my finished coffee/tea bar.

beautiful texture in the cup and plate, and the liquid is just dazzling. It really feels like I can reach into the screen and take a drink. exquisite :)

I thought that this was a photo Lilikins! Exceptional!

fantastic!

So realistic, great job 👏👏

Thanks everyone! This was a fun project :)

It looks amazing. The clarity of the tea and other subtle details, really masterfully executed.

FANTASTIC LILI!

Looks great in your coffee bar!

I really thought this was a real picture. Your realism is incredible! Beautiful masterpiece!

Thanks again everyone! We’ve been planning on redoing the kitchen since we moved in last year but that takes a lot of time and money. The house was built in the 80s as a retirement cabin by the previous owners and their taste isn’t the same as mine. Until I can fix up the rest of the kitchen this little space brings me joy and is something I can call my own - complete with my artwork 😊

Well I am late to the party on this one, lol, but I have to comment - this is amazing! Of the 2, this is my favorite. It is so realistic! great job! That bar area is awesome!

Extraordinary! As others have said, it looks like a photo. Beautifully done.

I just noticed that you even continued the oranges on to the side of the canvas, that's so cool! How hard was that to get it to look right, especially the orange on the bottom left corner that spans three surfaces? I'm so impressed.

Thanks everyone!

Jeffth it was a little awkward holding it as I painted but other than that it wasn’t difficult. I didn’t give the oranges on the side the same level of detail since I knew they wouldn’t be as heavily scrutinized. The book crease is not even close to the correct angle it should have been but the oranges came out pretty well proportioned. I’ve never continued a painting in the sides before thinking it would be too much effort but it made the finished painting look so much better with hardly any extra time spent. I wish I did it with some of my previous paintings!

Incredible. So realistic and so detailed. I love your composition, your colors and your lighting. Very well done :)
