I always found Kodama to be adorable but my husband finds them a little creepy. I ran out of bigger canvases so they came out 1/4 inch high and I couldn’t add much detail unfortunately. Not super spooky but hopefully someone likes my little spirits. Happy Halloween!

My first thought was, "ohhhh look at all the cute little ghosties!" I had not heard of Kodama before, so I had to look it up. Adorable little tree spirits! This is a fantastic painting. Your moon is very eye-catching, and I love the details and colors in the tree. Lends to the Japanese background of the "tree spirits"!
Doggymommee I recently rewatched Princess Mononoke which gave me the idea. Studio ghibli’s interpretation of kodama have always been one of my favorite. They always balance sweet and odd/creepy very well.
Also as a side note I just realized that the one clinging to the branch looks like he has a cherry blossom petal coming out of his bum 😂

This is so cute! I love the way the petals glimmer in the moonlight.
