Deer and Cardinal

This one was difficult. I found these amazing foldable tv trays at a thrift store, but the tops were really rough. So I sanded it down, primed it with white paint and then painted this scene. Painting on wood for the first time was an experience. Even with the primer layer, it really absorbed a lot of paint! Might put 2 or 3 layers on for the next table tops. I still have to put a lacquer coat on this one, but I like to live with it a bit before I finish in case I want to add or fix anything.
