Original Creation

Out in the Country

Lzicchinella 02 Nov 2020

Painted on 16x20. Inspiration taken from a picture. I had difficulty with that sun shining behind the tree as it took me a few tries to get it to where I was okay with it....I’m still second guessing everything about this one.

It is a beautiful painting. Only since sun is the zone of highest contrast and takes quite a big area of painting it takes all the attention from peaceful view. Since you second guessing everything anyway I would ask - what is this painting about. If it is about sun and sun rays, that is perfect and you nailed it.

If not just an idea try to remove the sun and make it shining from one of the sides. May be you will want to change where the road goes and invite viewer to observe house that lives in such calm beauty.

Don’t get upset I just started realizing that not all of the photos are good for converting to art and majority would need adjustments to become attractive painting.

It is an ice painting Lisa, your fence, sheep and flowers are very attractive.

I verty much agree with Sunnylady's third paragraph!! 👍

Thanks for the comments. I wanted the sun to be a focal point but not quite so large of an area. I can go back and try to fix this again too. Yeah, the composition from the picture might be too advanced for me too and I couldn’t figure out how to marry the left side and right side of the painting. I guess everything’s is a learning experience too. Thank you both!!

Please do not change anything. This painting is great as it is. It has sunny, calm mood! Do not adjust sun, this is shining focal point and now I know it :)

This is a lovely painting as it really captures the country feel. The sun rays are nicely done as well as the shadowing.
