I have been fooling around with this one for a few days. My first attempt to paint a living creature in oils. I did a lot of mud-mixing. So hard to get used to the fact that they do not dry immediately. I had fun experimenting, though.
It loos great! Eyes are great and the fur looks like fur.
Thank you so much, Sandy and Valerie!
I think your squirrel turn out great! The detail with the eye, ears and fur look real to me.
Thank you so much, Heidi!
Fantastic job! I love how its tail looks, the fur is super!✌️
Wow! This is amazing!!
Excellent work! Love the details!
Thank you so much, Brian, Chris, and StephieRae!
I love this guy! Shall we name him? 🤓
I haven’t attempted figures yet using oils. This painting definitely inspires me to try.
Thanks so much, Beyond! He should have a name, any ideas? You should definitely give it a go! I started out painting years ago, with acrylics, and mostly portraits so oils have been a real adjustment for me with the slow dry time and I am a mud-mixer! And landscapes are new for me too… soo many techniques to learn, and tools like the knife. And I have Parkinson’s so my hands are not so steady. But we are never too old to learn/try something new, so not giving up yet, but I definitely have to throw in a squirrel or an animal every now and then LOL Can’t wait to see more of your journey!
