I originally did this back in high school after the September 11th attacks occurred. I redid most of the painting a couple months ago and am really glad I did.
Very different era. I recall at that time how unified our nation was. I remember feeling very hopeful that our country was coming together in unity. Many patriotic songs were written during the period of time as well as movies. People were kinder to one another. How sad it took such a loss of life and devastation to bring it about. And how quickly that unity and kindness is forgotten. Most people old enough to remember, recall where they were that day. Beautiful tribute.
I agree Happy. Everyone had paper flags in their windows and we were altogether unified
