Velimir Bata Živojinović (1933 – 2016) was a legendary Yugoslav and Serbian actor, widely regarded as one of the most iconic film figures in the region. With more than 340 roles, he became a national icon, especially known for his portrayals of Yugoslav partisans during World War II, defining an entire era of regional cinema.
Known for his charismatic presence and tough-guy roles, he became a cultural symbol across the former Yugoslavia. Beyond acting, he was briefly involved in politics, serving as a member of parliament. He passed away in 2016, leaving a lasting legacy in Balkan cinema.
