Georgy Zhukov (1896 - 1974) was a Soviet military leader serving as a commander during World War II and achieved the rank of Marshal of the Soviet Union. Known for his strategic brilliance, leadership in key battles such as the defense of Moscow and the Battle of Stalingrad, and also his role in the Soviet counteroffensive, which turned the tide against Nazi Germany on the Eastern Front.
After the war, he continued to hold influential positions in the Soviet Union, even if he had a complex relationship with Stalin. He's still remembered as a national hero in Russia for his crucial contributions to the Allied victory in World War II.
