The Golubac Fortress is a historic fortress located on the Danube River, in Serbia. It was built in the XIV century and was positioned to control the river route. It's split into multiple compounds which were built in stages. Most of the towers received reinforcements over the years, mostly with the advent of firearms. Serbian frescos were also found inside the fortress.
It's also known for its well-preserved towers, strong walls, and panoramic views of the landscape. It played a significant role in the Serbian history, especially during medieval times, and is now a popular tourist attraction.
