Group portrait (Graduation)

MilanC 25 Jun 2025

After some time, we finally graduated from high school, so for the final project, we had a deal to give our homeroom teacher one last gift before graduating, but this time, I was in charge. I was tasked to paint a portrait of the entire class, which was also suggested by one of the professors. For this, I worked all day and night, and it was eventually finished it at 05:00 AM, on the day we received our diplomas.

On May 30th, 2025, for our final class, we wore our graduation T-shirts to celebrate. The problem was that these T-shirts we made contained the following message: "To Steal and deceive, that's our motto, that's what economics school taught us" (Serbian: "Ukradi i prevari, to nam je parola, to nas je naučila ekonomska škola"). We wrote it as a joke, but some professors took it seriously and were offended.

Before the prom, we got information that our homeroom teacher told one of the parents that she considered not going to the prom because of the message. We soon apologized, stating how we didn't had any bad intentions to offend anyone. In the end, during the photo shoot, she surprised us with a T-shirt, except it was different. Instead of "Stealing and deceiving", it said "To be good people" instead.

The thing is, I didn't really have friends there, I just went there to do my work. The only time someone has ever approached me was when they needed homework answers, because I was one of the smart students. Basically, I was at the prom for only 3 hours, before I left after the photo shoot, since everyone was ignoring me, like every other day. The only good thing about it is that no one bullied me there.
