Hotel Jugoslavija in Belgrade was one of the oldest luxurious Serbian hotels in the Zemun municipality. It was opened in 1969 as one of the most comfortable and most luxurious hotels in Yugoslavia. The hotel closed in 2006 and was eventually demolished in January 2025 to make way for redevelopment.
The demolition and redevelopment have stirred significant public controversy and protests, with critics lamenting the loss of one of the most iconic symbols. Supporters argue modernization is essential, though voices remain concerned about the impact on the architectural heritage and skyline of the city.
