Jakov Ignjatović (1822 - 1889) was a Serbian novelist and prose writer, who wrote in Serbian and Hungarian. He was also an active member of Matica Srpska. He was known for his contributions to literature, mainly his novels and short stories. His works explore themes of Serbian identity, rural life, and social issues of his time.
His writing skills are celebrated for its vivid portrayal of characters and landscapes, reflecting the cultural and societal context of XX century Serbia. One of his best works in Serbian literature is "Večiti mladoženja" (English: "The Eternal Groom").
