Milunka Savić (1889 - 1973) was a Serbian war heroine who became famous for her bravery during World War I. She was one of the most decorated female soldiers in the history of warfare. She disguised herself as a man to join the military and later fought in several battles, demonstrating exceptional courage and skill.
Her awards include the Order of the Star of Karađorđe with Swords, the French Légion d'Honneur, and the Russian Cross of St. George. Her legacy continues to inspire generations, both in Serbia and internationally, as a symbol of courage.
