Novi Sad County Jail is the central penitentiary institution in Novi Sad. It serves as both a detention center and as a correctional facility for inmates serving shorter sentences. It's also one of the most recognizable institutions in Vojvodina. Since it's located in the residential area of Klisa, locals often refer to it simply as “Klisa".
Throughout the protests, it often references government officials who would likely end up detained there. Beyond its practical role in the justice system, the prison became part of urban identity of the city, often mentioned in media, and even protest slogans that link it to themes of justice, corruption, and accountability.
