"The Elusive Summer of '68" is a 1984 Yugoslav romantic comedy. The film is set in the summer of 1968, during the student demonstrations in Yugoslavia, following a student, Petar Cvetković, played by Slavko Štimac, who searches for the love of his life by falling in love with multiple women, mostly mature and married ones. He is passionate, romantic, and often clashes with his father over freedom.
His father, Veselin, portrayed by Danilo Bata Stojković, is a local judge who strictly adheres to communist ideology. He represents the values of the older generation and usually argues with him over his romantic escapades. His approach contrasts with his youthful idealism, creating much of the film’s humor.
