On March 15th, 2025, Belgrade witnessed one of the biggest protests in Serbian history, with over 100,000 people from across the country gathering. Held at the National Assembly and at Slavija square, this protest was held for the victims of the November 2024 Novi Sad railway station canopy collapse. There were some tensions with the Gendarmery, but mostly without the escalation of violence.
At around 19:11 CET, an LRAD was allegedly used on peaceful protesters during a 15-minute vigil for the victims of the Novi Sad tragedy. The authorities denied the allegations despite the video footage. Serbian president, Aleksandar Vučić, called for the prosecution of those "lying" and "spreading disinformation".
